Cat Scan Preparation

Chest - Nothing to eat or drink three hours prior.

Head - Patient may eat light meal up to one hour before test.

Head with Contrast - Nothing to eat or drink three hours prior.

Abdomen and/or Pelvis - Nothing to eat or drink after midnight and drink 1 bottle of contrast. The first bottle two hours before the scheduled test time, and the second one hour before the scheduled test time.

If you have to drink contrast before your exam, your have the choice of arriving two hours prior to the scheduled exam time to drink here, or you may pick up the bottles ahead of time and drink them at home.

Please notify us at the time of scheduling if you have ever had a reaction to contrast (dye).

Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your first scheduled appointment time to register in the lobby.
